Cushion Cover with Metal Studs
A contemporary and minimalisic take on the magnificent Mughal architecture. Mughal monuments such as the famous Taj Mahal are a blend of Islamic, Persian and Indian architecture. They are characterized by bulbous domes, slender minarets with cupolas at the four corners, large halls, massive vaulted gateways and delicate geometric ornamentation. We used textured, hand-dyed cottons and added hand-cut, embroidered felt appliqués to create a distinctive sense of symmetry and two-dimensionality. The collection showcases the rich interplay between pure geometric form and elegance and creates an atmosphere of modern, lean chic.
Mughal Gate was inspired by the gate of Amber Fort in Rajasthan, which is studded with long iron spikes that are designed to repel elephants during war time in the Mughal Era.
